 LAKES IN TANZANIA

Tanzania holds the largest, the longest and the deepest of all lakes in Africa. The largest is Lake Victoria, a bassin lake bordered by rocks and inhabited by fishers and aquatic birds. The longest and deepest lake is Lake Tanganyika, it's rich of fishes, crocodiles and hippos.
Saltlakes in Rift Valley
Lake Natron, Lake Manyara and Lake Eyasi are beautiful salt lakes all located in the Rift Valley and home to millions of flamingos, pelicans and many other aquatic birds. The hippos here prefer to stay at the shores as they are not too fond of salt water.
Activities at Lakes
There are quite a few national parks bordering to lakes, like Lake Manyara NP. Lake Victoria even has a park inside: Rubondo Island National Park, a birder's paradise. Most of the Tanzanian lakes are ideal places for walking, canoeing and game fishing.
