Tanga
Tanzania's second-largest seaport after Dar es Salaam is a city sprawling well into the hinterland. Yet, it is a quiet laid back place. Tanga was founded by Germans in the late 19th century and is now a centre for the export of sisal.
Dhow sailboats look like a nostalgic way of moving around. But infact they have been used about 2000 years and still are. What about taking a trip from Tanga to Pemba Island?
Tanga is located some 350 km north of Dar es Salaam which takes about 7 hours by bus.
For visits to Tanga please contact us either by filling the booking form or by email at info@activetanzania.com or if you prefer call us on +255 784 605 785. We will be happy to hear from you. |
